Advisor/Advisee Program:   The purpose of a teacher advisement program is to provide guidance and counseling to assist
students in establishing the connection between what they are learning in school and their goals beyond high school.
Listed below are some guidelines for implementing this program:

Teachers will serve in the capacity of a career advisor.

Students are assigned to an advisement class by grade level.

Advisement class assignment should be limited to 20-25 students per advisor.

Students remain with the same advisor until graduation or until they transfer to another school.

After a four-year cycle the teacher/advisor will be assigned to a new ninth grade group.

Students meet with the advisor to participate in TEAM lessons designed by a select group of teachers as an aid to enable
students to maximize their career potential.

Advisor/Advisee/Parent(s) meet to discuss and plan the studentsÂ’ Five-Year Educational Plan at registration time.
